Outdoor Events for a Cause
Aklan Trekkers organizes a variety of outdoor events that bring people together to celebrate and appreciate the beauty of nature. These events are not only enjoyable but also serve a greater purpose.
One of our most popular events, the Aklan Hammock Festival, is a fun-filled gathering of like-minded people and organizations who share a deep appreciation for nature. Held amid the beauty of the outdoors, the annual festival brings together people from all walks of life. The funds raised from this festival are used for our conservation efforts and outreach activities, such as the Upland Outreach Mission.
Upland Outreach Mission
Our Upland Outreach Missions are a heartfelt endeavor aimed at supporting the unique needs of Geographically Isolated, Disadvantaged, and Conflict-Affected (GIDCA) communities in the remote areas of Aklan. These communities often face significant challenges due to limited access to essential services and minimal government support.
To bridge this gap, we assemble teams of dedicated individuals who embark on journeys to these far-flung regions, bringing much-needed assistance and support. Our missions encompass a range of impactful initiatives, including:
- Providing vital medical aid and addressing other immediate needs.
- Offering educational support to empower the youth.
- Conducting livelihood training to foster sustainable development.
Through these outreach missions, we strive to create lasting change, uplift spirits, and strengthen the resilience of the communities we serve.
Reforestation
Preserving biodiversity and combating climate change is at the core of our mission. We take decisive action through our tree planting efforts, actively contributing to the reforestation and restoration of ecosystems in Aklan. Working closely with local authorities and environmental organizations, we identify areas in need of reforestation, ensuring our impact is targeted and effective.
During our tree planting events, we bring together enthusiastic community members and dedicated volunteers, uniting our efforts to plant native trees and revitalize the natural habitat for local wildlife.
Friendship Hikes
At Aklan Trekkers, we cherish the power of shared experiences, and our Friendship Hikes exemplify just that. As participants embark on guided hikes, they come together to form new friendships while strengthening existing bonds.

Recycling and Upcycling
With this initiative, we engage the community to address the mounting issue of non-recyclable plastic waste. Instead of letting these wastes harm our precious ecosystems, we embrace a creative solution by upcycling it into building materials.
Together with dedicated community members, we transform plastic bottles into robust and sustainable bricks, ingeniously stuffing them with non-biodegradable waste. These eco bricks find new purpose in construction projects, such as building walls or structures, reducing the environmental impact of plastic waste. Through our innovative approach, we actively promote environmentally conscious construction practices, making a tangible difference in the fight against plastic pollution.
